The first information about the new story came in the form of this Prologue:

The only additional information provided at the time came in the description of the video: "Let's Live Skyrim Once Again - 'Defiance Is Our Battle Cry'".

TIMELINE OF EVENTS[]
- 4E 201 - The great dragon Alduin is vanquished in the province of Skyrim.
- 4E 203 - A mysterious, (and as of yet unknown) event called the "Great Dying" happens, blanketing all of Skyrim in persistent winter.
- 4E 248 - Spurius Toifel is dispatched by the Imperial Historical Archive of The Republic of Cyrodil to investigate the events leading up to the "Great Dying". It is here that the story of the 5 Fables begins.
